Tracy Arm Fjord — Narrow Walls, Icebergs & the Sawyer Glaciers
Tracy Arm is a 50-mile fjord with 1,000-foot granite walls, waterfalls cascading from hanging valleys, and icebergs calving from the twin Sawyer Glaciers at the end. It's one of the most dramatic scenic cruising experiences in Alaska.
Some cruise lines offer Tracy Arm as a dedicated boat excursion from Juneau rather than a scenic cruising day. Small boats have a significant advantage here — ice conditions sometimes block large ships from reaching the glaciers, but smaller vessels can navigate around the bergs. Expedition cruises offer kayaking among the icebergs for an unforgettable water-level experience.
